World’s Most Expensive Cars Geneva Motor Show

The Geneva Motor Show is in a class of its own. While we here in the United States celebrate our auto conferences with much pride, car fans the world over recognize the Geneva Motor Show as the absolute best, the cream of the crop for luxury sports cars and rare automobiles. The 2009 Geneva Motor Show did not disappoint– as some of the greatest, fastest, greenest and most expensive cars in the world were shown off for an international audience. Here’s your chance to see them all in one place– the absolute best of the Geneva Motor Show 2009…

Dacia Duster Concept

While Dacia’s Duster may not be a luxury car by any means, it is certainly a visual upgrade for what has been a budget brand historically. It appears to borrow quite a bit from Nissan’s Murano line of crossover ute’s, which we’d argue with if we didn’t already love the Murano. [see our full coverage of the Dacia Duster, including specs and photos]

Lamborghini Insecta Concept

While this one wasn’t seen in-the-flesh at the Geneva Motor Show this year, the Lamborghini Insecta was still a favorite revelation. Its insect-inspired design and green-conscious power system could be a boon for Lambo in years to come. [see our full coverage of the Lamborghini Insecta, including specs and photographs]

Updated: Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano

The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano saw an update in two variations at the Geneva show this year. Both are primarily an update in components and interior options, but are certainly noteworthy for the most upscale Ferrari buyers. [see our full coverage of the updated Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano]

ERA Concept by I.DE.A Institute

The concept behind this design was ambitious on the part of the I.DE.A Institute. Their goal was to develop a supercar concept in just 30 days. They succeeded, and were ready to show off the visuals alone at the Geneva Motor Show this year. [see our full coverage of the ERA Concept Car including specs and photos]

Koenigsegg Quant Electric Supercar

Swedish supercar manufacturer Keonigsegg is never one to go conservative with their products. The Koenigsegg Quant concept is a prime example, as this solar/electric car concept could be a holy terror to domestic versions like the Tesla and the Fisker Karma. [see our full coverage of the Koenigsegg Quant, including specs and photos]

The Opel Ampera Electric Hybrid

GM’s re-branded Chevy Volt had quite a progressive facelift for the Opel version. The Opel Ampera electric hybrid features the same soul and skeleton as the volt, but a much more aggressive facia. We asked our readers what they preferred, and they said the Opel Ampera in a heartbeat. [see our full coverage of the Opel Ampera, including specs, photos and a poll]

The Perana Z-One by Zagato

This Italian-designed, South African made speedster is new to the scene and still an instant classic. The Perana Z-One by Zagato is a 440hp street beast with a head-turning design that’ll have the most educated car buffs questioning its origin. [see our full coverage of the Perana Z-One, including specs and photos]

The KTM X-Bow ROC

StyleCrave favorite KTM has updated their X-Bow street rod with a carbon fibre monocoque shell and an Audi heartbeat intended to drop weight and add power. We think the standard X-Bow was one of the better designs of this decade, so we certainly love the ROC version. [see our full coverage of the KTM X-Bow ROC including specs and photos]

The Infiniti Essence Concept

While you may not have expected the Infiniti brand to be listed here, their Infiniti Essence Concept was well-suited to compete at the Geneva Motor Show 2009. This 592 horsepower hybrid gets 158 horses from an electric assist. The result? Fast. Did we mention it looks sexy? [see our full coverage of the Infiniti Essence Concept including specs and photos]

The Spyker C8 Aileron

While this certainly isn’t the first Spyker we’ve lusted after, we’ll gladly add it to our list. At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Spyker showed off their updated Spyker C8 Aileron for showgoers. Topping off at 178mph, this isn’t technically in supercar territory, but its close enough for our taste. [see our full coverage of the Spyker C8 Aileron including specs and photos]

The 2010 Audi TT RS

Sadly, Audi’s new TT RS will not be coming stateside, but that’s no reason we can’t still lust after it. The 2010 Audio TT RS is a turbo-charged 5-cylinder beast that comes in cabin or cabriolet, both of which are deadly fast and dead sexy. [see our full coverage of the 2010 Audi TT RS including specs and photos]

The Weissman Roadster MF4

The Weissman Roadster MF4 is a true classic, a throwback to the roadsters of yesteryear with modern sensibility. It’s powered by a 374 hp V8 engine and will cost around $160,000 after exchange, setting it just outside our price range… [see our full coverage of the Weissman Roadster MF4 including specs and photos]

Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce

Lamborghini’s special version of the Murcielago was a monster hit at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is powered by a 670 hp engine that can push this baby upwards of 212 mph on a good day. We’re sold. [see our full coverage of the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce including specs and photos]

Gemballa Mirage Carrera GT Carbon Edition

Light as a feather, stiff as a board– and as powerful as bullet train, Gemballa’s Mirage Carrera GT Carbon Edition is among the best race-minded vehicles at Geneve 2009. Zero to 60 aside, the Gemballa Mirage Carrera GT Carbon hits 200km/h in just 9.7 seconds. That’s a stat to salivate about… [see our full coverage of the Gemballa Mirage Carrera GT Carbon Edition including specs and photos]

The Giugiaro Frazer-Nash Namir

This Italian-designed, British built supercar is said to be the world’s fastest hybrid car. While its’ design would lend itself to such speed, its’ power system isn’t setting the bar too high. 370 horses and a top speed of 187 mph is just asking to be beat out in the years to come. But hey, we wouldn’t mind being seen in this one regardless of how long it holds that record. [see our full coverage of the Giugiaro Frazer-Nash Namir including specs and photos]

The Lotus Exige S 260 Sport

Lotus has never aimed at building big engine heavy-hitters, and the 2010 Lotus Exige S 260 Sport continues their focus on light, fast and athletic. The new Exige Sport features a 1.8L Toyota engine that pushes 260 hp. While that won’t compete with others on this list, it’ll certainly give tough competition to any car in its class. [see our full coverage of the 2010 Lotus Exige S 260 Sport including specs and photos]

Mansory Bugatti Veyron Linea Vincero

This modded Bugatti can be described in just one word– unreal. It’s powered by an 8.0L 16-cylinder engine capable of 1109 horsepower. We’re pretty sure that gives it a top speed somewhere between Ludicrous and Warp speeds. Visually, this baby is all Bugatti, but upgraded with fine fashionings that help put this Veyron mod into the multiple seven figures. [see our full coverage of the Mansory Bugatti Veyron Linea Vincero including specs and photos]
